There are few names in Harlem, Georgia, as synonymous with community spirit and local history as Bobby Culpepper. Today we writing this to announce that Bobby is retiring from DeFoor Realty.

While we have known him as a trusted colleague, the Harlem community knows him as much more: a neighbor, a former Mayor, and a man whose roots in this red clay run generations deep.

Bobby’s story has always been intertwined with the growth of our town. Long before he was helping families find their dream homes at DeFoor, many knew him through Culpepper Ford, the family business that served this area for decades. That foundation in local business taught Bobby the value of a handshake and the importance of looking out for your neighbor—traits he brought with him to our office.

During his tenure as the Mayor of Harlem, Bobby didn’t just hold an office; he championed the unique charm of Harlem. His vision was always focused on keeping Harlem “unique” while ensuring it was a place where families could thrive. Whether he was sitting at the Mayor’s desk or serving on the Urban Redevelopment Agency, his goal remained the same: to make Harlem the best version of itself.
